Samantha Burton is a freelance writer from Toronto Ontario. She started off working as journalist and photographer for the non-profit organization Photographers Without Borders, and travelled to Sumatra Indonesia to document the ongoing deforestation crisis within the region. One of those photos was featured at CONTACT Photography Festival in 2017.
Since then, she has written for various publications on a variety of topics, ranging from the amplification for the voices of the unhoused youth at 'Street Voices,' to curating a tattoo website, to ghost writing self-help books and supernatural fiction. Samantha cowrote a short film that appeared at the University of Toronto Film Festival in 2019. She currently resides just outside the city with her partner and two cats. Outside writing, Sam adores film, tattoos, video games, and spreads the word mental health awareness.
